Thanks to preservation work by the Aslan Foundation, High Ground Park will open to the public for the first time on November 29, the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Knoxville. The park preserves the remnants of historic Fort Higley where Union soldiers once guarded the high ground above Knoxville during the Confederate siege of the city.

Ronald K. Isaacs and Mikel A. Towe, recent graduates of the University of Tennessee College of Law, have joined the Lewis, King, Krieg & Waldrop law firm. Both are associates working out of the firm’s Knoxville office with a focus on general civil litigation.

It challenges schools to rally community support for the chance to win a share of $500,000 to fund what their students need the most to succeed. The top 20 schools that garner the most community votes will each win $25,000 to use as they wish to enhance their educational experience.
