Sweet P’s Barbeque has several events and specials planned for the month of April. The events and special offers for the two locations include:
- Dine Out for Education – Tuesday, April 4
Sweet P’s Barbeque will participate in the Knox County Schools’ annual Dine Out for Education by donating 10 percent of proceeds from the day to the Partners in Education program. Enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner at either Sweet P’s location and help Knox County Schools reach its goal of raising $25,000.
- Live music at the Downtown Dive – Starting April 5
Sweet P’s is going honky tonkin’ with the return of Mike McGill from 7-9 p.m. every Wednesday night starting April 5 through football season. Downtown Dive guests are invited to enjoy this free musical performance in the beer garden with first-come, first-served seating. An exponent of classic country and honky tonk music, McGill is the co-lead singer-songwriter with the Barstool Romeos and a member of the Cathouse Prophets. He also is a founding member of the Drunk Uncles and a solo artist. Don’t miss this combination of delicious BBQ, beer specials and great music at one of downtown Knoxville’s best patios.
- Songwriters in the Soul House – Wednesday, April 19, 6-8 p.m.
The Soul House presents Tim Carroll and Luella as part of the fifth season of Songwriters in the Soul House. The show is free, and seating is first-come, first-served. Sweet P’s Barbeque also has partnered this year with Blackhorse Brewery to offer beer specials on handcrafted ales, including $2 cans during all shows. Carroll is a guitar player and songwriter currently residing in Nashville who has recorded songs by artists such as John Prine and Bobby Bare Jr. and co-written a song with the late Duane Jarvis. Luella, a solo artist also residing in Nashville, was previously part of the band Luella & the Sun and now works on her side project, Crackerboots, and performs as a background vocalist for Tim Carroll.
