Sweet P’s Barbeque has several events slated for the month of April, including:

Friday-Saturday, April 8-9, 10-11 p.m., Downtown Dive, 410 W. Jackson Ave.: As Downtown Knoxville comes alive with the Rhythm N’ Blooms music festival, Sweet P’s Downtown Dive is offering a treat for late-night revelers. On Friday, April 8, and Saturday April 9, the restaurant will stay open until 11 p.m. and will offer a special BBQ sundae menu.

Thursday, April 14, 6 p.m., Soul House, 3725 Maryville Pike: The free Songwriters in the Soul House series features the legendary Wreckless Eric with hosts, husband-wife rockers Tim and Susan Lee. Hailed as one of the greatest songwriters ever to come out of Great Britain, Eric’s new album “amERICa” is enjoying universal acclaim from critics and the public.

Saturday, April 16: Both locations will celebrate Record Store Day to reward people who purchase music in a store and leave with the hard copy. Customers who bring a receipt from Raven Records, Lost & Found Records or Disc Exchange receive a 20 percent discount on their order.

Wednesday, April 20, 5-9 p.m., Downtown Dive, 410 W. Jackson Ave.: “Taste and Toast” will support Young-Williams Animal Center. The menu features pecan encrusted catfish with a Dijon compound butter, garlic braised Swiss chard and herb crusted fingerling potatoes. The beer partner is Highland Brewing Company of Asheville, N.C.

Friday-Sunday, April 22-24, 6 p.m., Soul House, 3725 Maryville Pike: The Soul House celebrates the first weekend of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival with creole brown butter shrimp po’boy sandwiches and streaming of the legendary jazz station, WWOZ New Orleans 90.7 FM.

Friday-Sunday, April 29-May 1, Downtown Dive, 410 W. Jackson Ave.: The Downtown Dive will celebrate the second weekend of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival with Cochon de Lait po’boy sandwiches and streaming of the legendary jazz station, WWOZ New Orleans 90.7 FM.
