Messer Construction Co. recently named project engineer Gary Broughton its Knoxville 2013 Community Service Award recipient in recognition of his volunteer work with Rebuilding Together Knoxville. The annual award is given to one employee in each of the company’s nine regions in recognition of outstanding community service and a demonstrated commitment to advancing the communities where those employees live and work.

Along with the Community Service Award, Messer donated $500 to Rebuilding Together Knoxville in Broughton’s honor. The volunteer-driven organization works to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners, enabling them to live in warmth, safety and independence.

Broughton resides in the Gibbs community.
