Johnson Architecture has hired Shehara Hapuarachy as an intern architect.
A culture of team-building and professional development attracted Hapuarachy to Johnson Architecture, along with the firm’s variety of projects and commitment to state-of-the-art software technology.

Among Hapuarachy’s current projects is a new auditorium building for the Clayton-Bradley STEM Academy, which continues the firm’s work on the state-of-the-art K-12 campus.

Hapuarachy brings design and project management skills and significant experience in 3D modeling and design using building information modeling (BIM) software.
Prior to joining Johnson Architecture, Hapuarachy worked as an intern architect for two years at Michael Brady Inc., followed by two years at McCarty Holsaple McCarty. She contributed to a variety of projects, including the Jefferson City Public Library and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida. She also worked extensively on two University of Tennessee projects – the new Ken and Blaire Mossman Building for the sciences and phase II of the Student Union.
Hapuarachy, who was raised in a family of engineers, developed an interest in architecture while growing up in West Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture in 2012 from UT and currently lives in South Knoxville. When she’s not working or studying for licensure exams, Hapuarachy enjoys traveling and playing tennis. She also volunteers with the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, UT Alumni Association and Knox Heritage.
