Frank Rosamond, former president of the Knoxville News Sentinel, has opened Mondbiz Strategic Business Solutions, a full-service firm specializing in advertising, sales and marketing to help businesses adapt and grow.
Mondbiz also has purchased the local franchise of Sandler Training, and the former owner of that franchise, Steve Herzog, has joined the new company as associate partner and trainer.
“We moved to Knoxville in 2017 and immediately fell in love with this vibrant, welcoming community,” Rosamond said. “Through my work at the newspaper, I became very familiar with the business landscape and realized there is a niche in the local advertising market that needs to be filled. Mondbiz is a small, local nimble firm that is perfectly positioned to fill that gap.”
In addition to crafting advertising strategies, the firm will train sales, management and customer service teams and provide company assessments into communication and behavioral styles to improve the hiring process, productivity and employee morale.
Rosamond’s wife, Angel Rosamond, a former journalist and advertising executive, is executive director of the advertising division of Mondbiz. Their daughter, Amber Rosamond, an honor’s graduate of the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism with a background in content marketing and writing, is director of marketing for the new firm. She is fluent in Spanish.
Two former News Sentinel employees also have joined the firm. Kevin Walsh, who was a senior sales executive at the News Sentinel, is a senior account executive, and Rebekah Petrosky, who was client strategy manager at the News Sentinel, is director of research and development.
Before being recruited to join the News Sentinel in 2017, Frank Rosamond launched, built and managed businesses in Top 10, mid-sized and small markets across the United States, including 12 years at Viamedia where he was regional vice president overseeing all central U.S. operations.
He specializes in culture change and during his tenure at the News Sentinel, he successfully created an environment that nurtured both professional and personal growth during an extremely taxing time in the evolution of the newspaper industry.
“I see business as people – employees and customers – and have found that if you take care of both, things work out,” Frank Rosamond said. “At Mondbiz, we understand how challenging the current times are. While no one can predict the future, we passionately believe the keys to success are patience and the readiness to adapt to what the new normal is becoming.”
Frank Rosamond serves on a number of local boards including the Knoxville Opera, Better Business Bureau and the Empty Stocking Fund.
