Greene County Habitat for Humanity, US Nitrogen and its contractors need volunteers Saturday, Nov. 22, to help build a home for Billy Bledsoe at 328 Pine St., in Greeneville. The additional support from the community will help the US Nitrogen Construction Team and contractors complete the home in time for the holidays.

When Greene County Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Vicki Culbertson approached US Nitrogen Construction Manager Victor Smith about donating some construction materials from the company’s worksite, she had no idea that conversation would jump-start the housing organization’s most ambitious project to date.

The US Nitrogen construction team donated a tractor-trailer full of piping and steel from the construction of its state-of-the-art facility in Greene County to the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Morristown on Wednesday, August 6. .

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) announced today the approval of the application by the Greene County Industrial Development Board (IDB) for the construction of a 12-mile double pipeline in the state right-of-way along Highways 340 and 348.

More than 80 motorcycle riders turned out for the Greene LEAF “Poker Run,” a charity event organized by the construction team and contractors at the US Nitrogen facility. The ride raised more than $11,300 for Greene LEAF to improve technology at Greene County Schools.
