ONE-OF-A-KIND TREE ‘GROWS’ FROM SCRAP YARD DIG AT GERDAU IN LONSDALE

A new tree has been “planted” at the Gerdau steel mill in the Lonsdale community. A sculpture named “Cornus Castanea Gerdau,” which translates to “Dogwood Chestnut Gerdau,” was installed during a ceremony April 26.

Gerdau recently named Leroy Loy its Knoxville mill’s 2012 Employee of the Year. Loy was nominated by coworkers and selected by administration in recognition of his proactive work in helping the mill achieve excellent results in safety, cost and morale.

GERDAU DONATES TO SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK OF EAST TENNESSEE

Gerdau recently made a $1,000 donation to its former Lonsdale neighbor, Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. The donation equates to 3,000 meals for our neighbors in need.
